Leckhampton Area Guide

With parts of the town dating back to the Saxon era, and the village first being mentioned in the Doomsday book in the 8th century, Leckhampton is a quiet village with much to offer. Lying just south of Cheltenham, at the foot of Leckhampton Hill, Leckhampton is considered a ‘leafy’, residential suburb of the town.

Living in Leckhampton

Leckhampton is a highly sought-after village, and property is always received well when it comes to market here, especially due to the brilliant schools nearby.

Keeping it local

Bath Road is the main hub for shopping in the village, and the road boasts an excellent range of shops, including a delicatessen, butchers, greengrocers and bakers, together with pubs, cafes and restaurants.

For the kids

As well as great schools, Leckhampton is also known for being a hub for Scouting, which dates back to 1907 in the village. With active Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers meetings in the Leckhampton Scout Hut, the group organises weekly meet-ups as well as their own camps, teaching young ones vital skills.

Why Leckhampton?

As if the above weren’t enough, Leckhampton is a true community, with several churches, sports clubs - including cricket - and activities on Burrows Field, a local play area and nursery all to hand. There is a true community spirit throughout the village, with events throughout the year at the village hall, and plenty going on both in Leckhampton and Cheltenham to keep any individual, couple or family or all ages entertained throughout the year.
