Bishops Cleeve Area Guide

A village to the north of Cheltenham, Bishops Cleeve is nestled at the foot of the highest part of the Cotswolds, Cleeve Hill. Originally serving as part of the railway line running from Cheltenham to Stratford-Upon-Avon, the railway was abandoned in the 1960s, leaving Bishops Cleeve a quiet and peaceful village once again.

In most recent years, Bishops Cleeve has seen a large growth in property development, with plenty of new homes being constructed in recent years.

On the outskirts

Whilst Bishops Cleeve sits on the outskirts of Cheltenham, the heart of the town is only a 10 or so minute drive away, so it still benefits from all that Cheltenham has to offer, with the addition of being somewhat removed from the the action. Our Bishops Cleeve office also services some of the smaller villages, including Gotherington, which sits on the cusp of the Cotswolds, Tredington and Stoke Orchard.

Things to do

If the hustle anc bustle of town doesn’t catch your imagination, there’s still plenty to do nearby. Of course, the Cotswolds are the largest expanse to explore, but if you’re looking for culture, 15th-century stately home Sudeley Castle is also nearby, as is the Jet Age museum of aviation.

Why you should make Bishops Cleeve your home

Close enough to the centre of town, but far enough removed, and with beautiful surroundings, Bishops Cleeve is the ultimate best-of-both village to choose for your next home. With a vast variety of property always on the market, you’ll be sure to find your dream property in this lovely little village.
