Thought to house the largest Romanesque crossing tower still in existence in Europe, Tewkesbury Abbey was first built in the 12th century and boasts three organs and 12 bells, all of which are still played today. Tewkesbury is also home to its own museum, documenting the history of the town, the Showborough House Sculpture Garden, and the Battle Trail.

Much like the nearby town of Cheltenham, Tewkesbury holds its own festivals every year, including the Tewkesbury Winter Beer Festival (very fitting for the town that is home to Gloucestershire’s oldest pub, The Black Bear); a Medieval Festival in the summer; an annual Food & Drink festival in the grounds of the Abbey; and a Water Festival in the height of summer.
